CONGREGATIONAL MEETING APRIL 21

The Session has approved a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, April 21, at 12:00noon in the Sanctuary and the Worship & Arts Center to hear the report of the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee and vote on their recommendation for a new Congregational Care Pastor. Please plan to attend this important meeting.

BUNCOMBE STREET PARKING LOT

Please do not park in the Buncombe Street parking lot on Sundays. It is reserved for Buncombe Street Methodist church members only. The parking garage on Richardson Street is available and free to use on the weekends if FPC lots are full. Thank you!

STUDENT MINISTRY ENVELOPE FUNDRAISER

Help support this summer’s Senior High Dominican Republic mission trip by picking up an envelope from tables around the church this Sunday, April 21. Enclose the suggested amount ($5 to $100)—or $1,500 to sponsor the trip for one student—and return it by Sunday, May 5, to the church office or offering plate. Questions? Contact Mason Simmons at msimmons@firstpresgreenville.org. Thank you for supporting Youth Missions!

Discipleship

NEW SERMON SERIES: “BECOMING”

Among some of Jesus’ last words, He says to His disciples, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you” (Acts 1:8). So what exactly did Jesus mean? Over the next few weeks on Sunday mornings, we will embark on a journey designed to take us away from vague, uncertain notions of who the Holy Spirit is and what He does. Discover what it means to live out your faith while growing, enjoying, and abiding daily intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Click here for more information or to watch online.

DISCOVER FIRST: NEW MEMBER WEEKEND

Are you interested in making First Presbyterian your church home? Discover more about the vision, discipleship, and outreach of FPC! New Member Weekend will be Friday−Saturday, May 3-4. Childcare is available for children age 5 and under. For details, contact Linda Sholtis (lsholtis@firstpresgreenville.org). Register by clicking here.

LEARNING TO REST IN GOD SEMINAR

Living with demanding schedules, addiction to SMART phones, and daily deadlines, can leave you exhausted and unconsciously committed to schedules over significance and busyness over holiness. Join us as we discuss the Sabbath and how to intentionally engage in God’s invitation to rest, reflect, and quietly interact with Him to refresh and reenergize your soul. Don’t miss this “Learning to Rest in God” seminar, hosted by the Flourish Institute of Technology, held on May 3-4 at FPC. The cost is $60. Please register by clicking here.

HOLLIS CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

UPSTREAM CHAPERONES NEEDED

We are looking for two more chaperones (one male, one female) for our Junior High spring retreat that will take place the weekend of 4/26-4/28. We are going to be staying at Camp Thunderbird outside of Charlotte and heading into the National Whitewater Center for most of the day Saturday! This is an awesome opportunity to be involved in impacting the next generation of believers as we hang out, study God’s word, play a ton of games, and have an action packed day at the NWC. We’d love for you to join us! Contact Mason Simmons at msimmons@firstpresgreenville.org if you are interested.
