NEW STAFF: JIM SMITH

jims.jpgPlease welcome Jim Smith to the FPC staff as Event Operations Coordinator. He is originally from the Charleston area and when he’s not under the hood of his latest project, you can find him outdoors with his dog Harley. He previously worked on the AV during construction of the Worship & Arts Center, but enjoyed the relationships he made while here and decided to make the switch to FPC!


GALLIVAN-MILLS SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2024-2025

The Gallivan-Mills Scholarship is granted each year to college undergraduate and seminary students who are FPC members. Applications available at both reception desks and online here. Submit your completed scholarship application, with all attachments, to the Gallivan-Mills Scholarship Committee (drop off at the reception desk or email to Steven Harvin) no later than Sunday, March 31. FPC BASKETBALL AWARDS

At the Jim Johnson Basketball Supper, Clayton Duke and Lillian Clark received the 2024 Lewis and Nancy Tollison Scholarship Awards. This annual award recognizes one senior boy and one senior girl basketball player who have played with both competitive flair and exemplary sportsmanship. The $2,000 scholarships are made possible by Michael and Cheryl Tollison.

WOMEN'S SPRING LUNCHEON APRIL 4

All women are invited to the Spring Luncheon, Thursday, April 4, at 12:00pm, in the Fellowship Hall. Come hear Rebecca Madden, author of “Breathless Haste: Finding God in Ordinary Life.” Rebecca, a former FPC member, now serves as the Women’s Ministry Director at Peachtree Presbyterian in Atlanta. GREAT ALASKA SPORTING CLAY CLASSIC

The 11th Annual Great Alaska Sporting Clay Classic will be held on Friday morning, April 12, at The Clinton House in Clinton, SC. CELEBRATE LIFE!  MUSICAL THEATRE

FPC Worship and Music Ministry presents a musical theatre performance to celebrate the birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus on Sunday, March 10, at 3:00pm in the Worship & Arts Center.
Portions of the “Celebrate Life!” production, by Buryl Red and Ragan Courtney, will be performed through narration, the Sanctuary Choir, soloists, and instrumentalists. Free tickets are available at both reception desks and online here.


SUMMER MUSIC CAMP

Spaces are still available in Music Camp for children rising 2nd–rising 6th grades. Rising 7th-12th grades can also register as a counselor. Music camp follows VBS, June 10-13, from 12:00pm–4:00pm. Children can choose a specialty: world percussion, piano/organ, recorders, Orff instruments (xylophones, etc.), handbells, or drama. Volunteers for camp are also needed. Register here.

A SUMMER JOB THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

JOBS FOR LIFE CLASS MARCH 19

Jobs for Life is a transformational ministry to equip men getting back up on their feet to find and keep a job. We are in need of several men to serve as mentors, as well as business owners to volunteer as guest speakers.
