The Session has approved a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, November 10, at 12:00noon in the Sanctuary and Worship & Arts Center for the purposes of approving changes in Pastors’ Terms of Call and electing church officers: Elders and Deacons for the Class of 2027. Please make every effort to attend this meeting. Election Procedures brochures containing the slate of nominees will be available soon in the literature racks.
Roots meets on Wednesday evenings, with Junior High at 5:45pm, and Senior High at 7:30pm. Please encourage your student to invite a friend and join us!
DivorceCare is a weekly seminar/support group that will help you heal from the pain of divorce. It’s a warm, caring environment led by people who understand what you are going through. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ name through a simple gift! Pick up a shoebox from the nursery check-in area or the Worship & Arts Center, or use a regular shoebox. Return shoeboxes to the First Presbyterian collection site (located in the Washington Street parking lot) November 18–24 during the hours noted on the information sheet inside the shoebox. “Ballet Magnificat” on Friday, October 25, at 6:30pm at First Pres will put a new spin on the C.S. Lewis classic, The Screwtape Letters, with their most whimsical ballet to date, “Stratagem.” Experience the humor, athleticism, and drama of this internationally acclaimed company founded by Kathy Thibodeaux, silver medalist at the second USA International Ballet competition. Join us in the beautiful FPC Sanctuary for this year’s Christmas@First concert, “Love’s Pure Light,” on Saturday, December 14, at 2:00pm or 6:00pm, or Sunday, December 15, at 3:00pm. You’ll hear Christmas favorites by our 100-voice choir, full orchestra, and the FPC handbell choir as we celebrate our Savior’s birth through songs of the season, both sacred and secular. Tickets are available October 27 at FirstPresGreenville.org/Events or at the First Pres box office (main reception area) during normal business hours or on Sunday, November 24 and Sunday, December 8. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children (12 and under).
Save the date for Christmas Concert for a Cause, featuring Graydon Tomlinson and special guests, on Sunday, December 1. All proceeds support the mission of Isaiah 117 House, which provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting placement.
