CONGREGATIONAL MEETING NOVEMBER 10

The Session has approved a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, November 10, at 12:00noon in the Sanctuary and Worship & Arts Center for the purposes of approving changes in Pastors’ Terms of Call and electing church officers: Elders and Deacons for the Class of 2027. Please make every effort to attend this meeting. Election Procedures brochures containing the slate of nominees will be available soon in the literature racks.

Roots meets on Wednesday evenings, with Junior High at 5:45pm, and Senior High at 7:30pm. Please encourage your student to invite a friend and join us!

DIVORCE CARE BEGINS JANUARY 8

DivorceCare is a weekly seminar/support group that will help you heal from the pain of divorce. It’s a warm, caring environment led by people who understand what you are going through. Registration is open at DivorceCare.org; click here. Once you register online, you’ll need to order your participant’s manual through this registration portal. The cost is $20. Childcare is provided.


ONE PRAYER WORSHIP SERVICE

Come join us for an evening of unifying worship and prayer led by local church pastors on Sunday, November 17, at 5:00pm in the Worship & Arts Center. At ONE Prayer 2024, we will ask God together for greater local church unity in the Upstate, which Jesus prayed for in John 17. FEARFULLY & WONDERFULLY MADE NOVEMBER 7

Saddle up and mosey on over for a night of fashion, food, music, and fun as we celebrate God’s Fearfully & Wonderfully Made cowboys and cowgirls. Grab your boots and hat, and round up your friends for a night at the barnyard (aka the Worship & Arts Center) on Thursday, November 7. Pre-show reception begins at 5:30pm; event begins at 6:30pm. FAMILY ADVENT FESTIVAL

Join us for the Family Advent Festival on Wednesday, December 4, 5:30–7:30pm in Fellowship Hall. It’s a great way to kick off the Advent season with your whole family by making a fun craft and enjoying dinner together! Please look for registration information coming soon. Limited to 40 families.


OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX DRIVE

Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ name through a simple gift! Pick up a shoebox from the nursery check-in area or the Worship & Arts Center, or use a regular shoebox. Return shoeboxes to the First Presbyterian collection site (located in the Washington Street parking lot) November 18–24 during the hours noted on the information sheet inside the shoebox. If you would like to serve during one of the shifts at the collection site, please contact Teresa Hannon at twhannon@aol.com.


FALL FEST AT THE ACADEMY THIS FRIDAY

First Presbyterian Academy invites families from both campuses (Downtown and Shannon Forest) to our Fall Fest! This night of fall festivities will be held on Friday, October 25, 5:00–7:00pm on the Shannon Forest Campus. Invite friends, family, and neighbors, and come join the fun!


BALLET MAGNIFICAT STRATAGEM

“Ballet Magnificat” on Friday, October 25, at 6:30pm at First Pres will put a new spin on the C.S. Lewis classic, The Screwtape Letters, with their most whimsical ballet to date, “Stratagem.” Experience the humor, athleticism, and drama of this internationally acclaimed company founded by Kathy Thibodeaux, silver medalist at the second USA International Ballet competition. CHRISTMAS@FIRST CONCERTS: LOVE'S PURE LIGHT

Join us in the beautiful FPC Sanctuary for this year’s Christmas@First concert, “Love’s Pure Light,” on Saturday, December 14, at 2:00pm or 6:00pm, or Sunday, December 15, at 3:00pm. You’ll hear Christmas favorites by our 100-voice choir, full orchestra, and the FPC handbell choir as we celebrate our Savior’s birth through songs of the season, both sacred and secular. Tickets are available October 27 at FirstPresGreenville.org/Events or at the First Pres box office (main reception area) during normal business hours or on Sunday, November 24 and Sunday, December 8. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children (12 and under).


CHRISTMAS CONCERT FOR A CAUSE

Save the date for Christmas Concert for a Cause, featuring Graydon Tomlinson and special guests, on Sunday, December 1. The pre-concert Christmas Market will begin at 3:30pm, followed by the concert at 5:00pm in the Worship & Arts Center. Tickets ($10) are on sale at FirstPresGreenville.org/Events. All proceeds support the mission of Isaiah 117 House, which provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting placement.
