PRAYERS FOR SENIOR HIGH DR TRIP

Please join us in prayer for our Senior High students and leaders traveling to the Dominican Republic July 21-26. Pray that as our crew loves and serves together, they will grow stronger in their love for Jesus and learn how to make an impact in the world.


DISABILITY RESOURCE EXPO

Do you know someone who lives with a disability? If so, be sure they are aware of the Upstate Disability Resource Expo to be held at the Kroc Center on Sunday, August 25, at 2:00pm. First Presbyterian was asked to be an exhibitor due to our KultureCity certification and our Special Needs Ministry. Spread the word and help us to come alongside those with special needs.

RE|ENGAGE MARRIAGE MINISTRY BEGINS AUGUST 11

Re|engage is a safe place to connect or reconnect with your spouse. God designed and has a specific plan for your marriage. This fall, Re|engage will be offered on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. The joint kick-off will be held Sunday, August 11, at 9:30am in Fellowship Hall. The cost is $55 per couple. Children’s programming (birth–5th grade) is available on Wednesday evenings only. TUESDAY HEALING & PRAYER SERVICE

The Healing & Prayer Service is held each Tuesday at 6:30pm in Harper Prayer Chapel. You are invited to come and receive God’s love, peace, hope, and healing through prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit.


SAVE THE DATE: FEARFULLY & WONDERFULLY MADE

Saddle up and mosey on over for a night of fashion, food, music and fun! We are celebratin’ all of God’s Fearfully & Wonderfully Made cowboys and cowgirls. Grab your boots, hat, and best bling, and round up all your friends for a night at the barnyard (aka The Worship & Arts Center) on Thursday, October 3. Pre-show reception begins at 5:30pm and event begins at 6:30pm. Tickets on sale Monday, August 5.


BUDDY BREAK IS JULY 26

Do you know of a family raising a child with special needs? Once a quarter we hold Buddy Break to give these parents a respite. Our next Buddy Break is Friday, July 26, from 5:30–8:00pm. Please share this information and consider serving as a “Buddy.” Training is provided. Contact Tina Jones with questions or to register at tjones@firstpresgreenville.org.


BACKPACK BLESSING & PROMOTION SUNDAY

All students will be promoted on Sunday, August 11. The Children’s Ministry will have a “circus-themed” celebration. We will also have our annual Backpack Blessing in each worship service, when our pastors pray over all educators and students who are going back to school. Children are encouraged to wear their backpacks. Mark your calendars and plan to join us!


3GEN DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE

3GEN Ministries is hosting a Daddy Daughter Dance for men of the upstate area on Friday, September 13, 7:00–9:30pm at Larkin’s Sawmill Venue (22 Graves Drive, Greenville, SC 29609). It will be a fantastic evening of desserts, fun, and dancing. Dads will receive detailed instructions with creative ideas on how to create an unforgettable date night with their daughters. DON’T MISS A NIGHT WITH THE LAFLINS

Child Evangelism Fellowship is proud to partner with the Laflins and FPC to bring you a fun night for the whole family on Friday, September 27, at 6:00pm in the Worship & Arts Center. Doors open at 4:00pm with food, inflatables, and kid-friendly activities. Witness the impossible at A Night of Good News as internationally recognized illusionists David and Teesha Laflin create a dazzling spectacle that’s perfect for families and audiences of all ages. FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING BOOK CLUB

Everyone is invited to join The Fellowship of the Ring Book Club to read this Tolkien classic we know you will enjoy. We hope that you’ll be encouraged by the beauty, courage, and agape love in the telling of this story. We will meet weekly on Tuesdays, 3:30–4:30pm, August 13 through December 10. FPC will welcome Tenth Avenue North: The Invited Tour on Friday, September 20, at 7:00pm, in the Worship & Arts Center. THE LIGHT OF CHRIST CONCERT FEATURING “ILLUMINARE”

Save the date on Sunday, September 15, at 3:00pm for a free concert presented by the First Presbyterian Church Choir and Orchestra. Celebrate the love and light of Christ through some of your favorite hymns, anthems, scripture readings, and the brand new 5-movement work, “Illuminare,” by composer Elaine Hagenberg. Prepare to be moved, inspired, and reminded of Jesus’ unique divine identity and His purpose as the light of the world. Free tickets available on July 28.

HOLLIS ACADEMY BACK-TO-SCHOOL DRIVE

Pick up an apple from the displays around the church to help purchase new toys, classroom supplies, and games for Hollis Academy. Pick-up and drop-off locations can be found in the Loggia, Memorial Hall, and Worship & Arts reception area. CHRISTMAS IN THE SUMMER!

Christmas music for the Christmas@First concerts will be introduced on Wednesday, August 7, 6:00–7:30pm, in the Choir Room. If you are interested in singing in the Christmas Choir, please join us!
